Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) has been receiving a lot of attention lately - and for good reason. KAP is an evidence-based, holistic treatment in which ketamine is used as a complement and adjunct to traditional therapy. Clients who receive it can expect to experience more frequent and faster breakthroughs, and sustained improvements in their symptoms.

Ketamine is a legal, safe and effective medicine used to treat a variety of mental health conditions, including chronic and treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma, OCD, substance use, and more. Ketamine has rapidly-acting antidepressant and mood-enhancing effects, which can begin to take effect within 1-2 hrs. after treatment, and last for up to 2 weeks. A typical treatment course is about 8 treatments, but can vary. Treatment courses will be individual to each client, and in conjunction with a Journey Clinical prescriber, will be tailored to your specific needs.

In an ever-growing body of research, Ketamine has been shown to activate neuroplasticity - the brain’s ability to change its wiring - and thus, our thinking patterns, which is what makes it so effective and long-lasting. Feel free to browse some selected articles below.
