CRONING: noun a celebration or ceremony to honor older women.
One of my great passions is supporting women. And it is a well-known fact that women over 55 receive very little support from our society. Most medical research by default is focused on the needs of men, their life cycles and primary medical concerns (Viagra, anyone?!). Women in general are not a focus, let alone older women - which naturally leads to lower quality care and treatments. We’re not seen, we’re not heard. Getting older is hard enough as it is!
That is why I wanted to create a space where older women can be seen, heard, and most importantly, supported. Your biological, psychological and spiritual well-being is important! Especially at this stage of our lives.
Join us for an ongoing group focused on YOUR needs. This group will be a part psychoeducation, part therapy & coping, part peer support group; it will offer a welcoming space to explore mental health, resilience, and personal well-being in a supportive, empowering environment. Together, we’ll learn about topics like managing stress, emotional wellness, life transitions, illness, loss, loneliness, and much more—providing tools for navigating our uniques challenges at this stage of our lives, with confidence.
We will be meeting every other Wednesday evening at 6pm, for 90 minutes, beginning January 8, 2025. A second group earlier in the day can be arranged, if there is interest - let us know!
Participation is limited to 12, and a commitment of 8 meetings is required to hold your spot. And you are welcome to rejoin! New sessions will begin about every 4 months.
This is a working group, so expect to do a little bit of prep (maybe some reading or worksheets) now and then, but mostly we will learn from each other in real time. Refreshments will be available!
Cost: $600 prepaid for eight 90-minute meetings. Otherwise, $80 per meeting. One or two need-based reduced fee slots may be available - please inquire.
